Hey all,

Had a search but couldn't find any fitting help!!

So quick question, anyone had any trouble putting a rollcentre cage together??
I've got the rear in and connected the two bars that follow the roof and then down the front bulkhead.
Then I've gone to fit the door bars and I can only get three bolts on each side!
I have a hole on each side that just doesn't line up! I've tried ratchet straps with no help!
I phoned rollcentre while at work today an the bloke thought I had the bars on the wrong way round! But I don't think I have!!
Il take some pics tomoz as I'm off.

So is it short bit highest and the long bit lowest at t front?
Oh the spreader plates aren't welded in yet, just under the feet!

Thanks martin

mine fitted fine, having the spreader plates in makes a difference, are you sure its in square? also its best to just push the bolts though and loosly put nuts on and then tighten all in one go once its in

When i fitted my rollcantre cage it was fairly interesting, but as wolfie suggests putting the bolts in loosely helps.

..just be patient with it lol

Wilts

my cage was also an arse to fit, and the most upsetting thing is, i'll have to take it back out before the car is painted, and then put it back in, and nowing my my luck something will get damaged!

Bubble rap at the ready!

Oh then ive got to squeeze a headlining in.

Cheers wolfie! I've managed to get all the bolts in, but it's high on one of front legs and the opposite back leg!!lol

Loosing the bolts right off worked like u said wolfie thanks!

I'm just trying to lower a few high spots that are causing it I think!

It's a git!! Lol

Put the headlining in loose first, then put the back section of the cage in, then all of the front and then do up the bolts.

It will be very very difficult to get the headlining in after the cage is in, and if you do it first and glue it all up, then you risk ripping it when the front legs have to be wiggled into place.

I'm only fitting the cage at the minute, so I can find were to weld the spreader in. Now can I keep the bolts lose or would you tighten it all up to find the position??

Cheers

Ok, its annoying me now lol! tapped out the high spots at the front!! but it hasnt worked! So im thinking its the arches!! (there tubbed)

Im gonna try and grind down the weld to see if that works!! fingers crossed!!
Heres some pics anyway, See if you can spot any reason why it wouldnt be fitting right!

thanks,

put some spreader plates on the rear arches

mine fits well but the shell has never been welded, new sills, floors and tubbing ect will change some dimensions

I thought the spreader plates sandwiched the arch? So I could put them on the inside not the outside??
