Finally got time to uprate the MPI clutch, thought it went ok - thanks to Sprockets instructions (nice one!).

The pedal is solid - getting maybe about 1 to 2" of travel then nowt. I first thought it was the throw out, but I've backed the nut right off and it's the same.

If I put the Mini in gear, then turn it over with the clutch down - it drives, there is a squeal and the smell of burning clutch.

Do you think it is likely to be the thrust bearing - is it possible to install it the wrong way round?

I'm gonna have a look at it after dinner, MrsOz is not impressed.

Could have done with the Mini on the road for tomorrow - typical, eh?

EDIT: Do you just want the top hat or the bearing on the end of the plunger as well?
