hi all

help firstly..i have been told that to fit a cam to a 1275 block i need to take the oil pump off....this was after i managed to slip it in in the similar way to a 998 i took off the cam cover slipped out the old one and slid in the new one but i was told afterwards did u take off the oil pump...which i didnt, does this mean i have buggered it up? help urgently guys *frown*

I don't see why you should need to remove the oil pump.

I assume the engine was in such a position the none of the followers could have been disloged?

the reason for removing the pump is so the spider on spider drive cams dosen't fall in the sump.

its fine on other style cams.
