is it possible to put a metro rad just behind the grill on a mini ?
o its of a F reg metro (a series)

I've done this in the past but I needed to cut the slam panel and front panel below the grille - not sure if it can be done without cutting though

I had one in my clubman, worked well.

You will need an after market fan for it. I think it would be a very tight fit in a round nose.

Have a look at a few people's build threads for inspiration. Prawn's springs to mind.

How good is the radiator from a scrap car? 20+ years old and not that likely to have been maintained. The fiat one's should fit as well as a metro and are available new for very little money

the rad looks fairley new an i stayed behind a little while tonight an got the a series engine running an it runs lovly :)

fitting the rad in a clubby is alot easier but dont forget the fan

i was having a look at the rad today an its very thin compared to most rads well if it does go in ill be posting pics of it :)
also i am fitting an oil cooler where my old rad would have been :)

Yes I have one fitted in mine, got a swift alternator though. Fan is gonna be a squeeze!

Yes it's very thin (I think 18mm) because fins of 2 layers are interleaved, very clever design. I've got one and it works well. However thermoswitch is too hot, perhaps because I installed rad in the upside down.

you don't need an oil cooler on a standard engine, you will just end up with your oil too cold to do it's job properly
