mk 4 ford escort rs turbo van (still 1.6 diesel on logbook)
the van was bought a couple of months back off a friend who dry stored it for 3 years, before storage the engine was fully rebuilt and a new turbo fitted
soon as i got the van i fitted a radtec alloy rad (£200) and taxed and mot'd it, it has also just had a new starter motor (£50)
the engine fitted is a 1.6 series 2 rs turbo (around 2000 miles since rebuild), new turbo, polished rocker cover, oil cap, timing cover, air intake pipe, blue samco silicone hoses and also a front mounted alloy intercooler. gearbox is smooth and faultless.
on the bodywork side of things its fitted with a full rs turbo bodykit, fibreglass single piece rear door and its been delocked.
the paintwork does need a little attention, there is a scratch down the front offside wing where someone keyed it, rear bumper needs repainting and just general touch ups here and there
being 20 years old theres bound to be some rust but this is very minimal, small bit is bubbling around the top of the windscreen, not too close, so to repair the windscreen could stay in no problem. there is a little bit of rust in the gutter near the rear, 2 pieces about an inch long, very easy repair. the front underside of the bonnet is starting to rust but replacments can be bought for next to nothing. apart from that its solid.
inside its fitted with a pair or recaro seats but they have seen better days. dash is as standard but has a turbo timer fitted, boost gauge and a switch to put the boost from low to high. in the back of the van its been fully carpeted out.
the front brakes have been converted to cosworth discs and calipers, has uprated front shocks but the rear is running standard leaf springs and drums.
this is a good solid running project with tax and mot until june next year
i would love to keep it but me and my girlfriend have a baby due and i have had to buy a sensible car 4 door car.
no part exchanges or swaps please as i ave too many cars so im trying to clear some space aswell as get some cash for the new arrival.
