We picked up an unmolested 12G295 head for £40 - that's a result :)

The other number was something like 11.1.

I mangaed to drop mini off the trailor (stupidly), loose a driveshaft deposit oil on the strip (sorry to all for that!) and then proceed to run another personal best 0f 14.4. On the plus side manged to get both cars home in one oiece this time.

14.6 in the van again. At least it's consistent.

After the 11.80 at Avon Park and some analysis of the various different runs, we thought that with the combination of getting everything just so there was an 11.5 or thereabouts in the car.

So this morning, the first run felt pretty scrappy, not a great start and it felt to semi bog down, however managed to get on the gas in 2nd gear and just about put it down, then with gas thru 3rd (which I missed at the first attempt) and 4th, it felt like a run somewhere in the late 12 second area to me. Came back round and bugger me it was an 11.50, I was staggered as it just didn't feel that good.

So feeling suprised at the first run, but now eager to see what the car would do, went out again. They had prepped the track and I did a decent burnout, its not easy with the big slicks on as they just want to grip and drag the car off up the strip. Off the line and it felt pretty good, away into 2nd and on the gas, everything coming together just nicely, and over the line with it pulling somewhere near 9k in top.
Back round to see Carl and Simon to find out hey presto, we'd pulled a 11.12 @ 124mph out of the bag!
Everything came together just nicely, the perfect run really, happy with that would be an understatement.
So with that in the bag off a monster start with a 60ft time of something like 1.69 (will have to confirm when I look at ticket again) we decided that there wasn't much more to be had from the DON without either upping the boost or the nitrous. Not really wanting to take it home broken again we took the slicks off to go back on the Twinnie and then ran that for the rest of the afternoon. I will let Carl speedtype his version of those events!
Anyway picked up the pot for the fastest car in "C" class.

Don't worry, I have not forgotten, by next year with interest I would like a large 99 with 2 flakes and sauce.

Oh and you need to get some beer drinking practise in too. Very poor.

Looks like retightening the head bolts on Saturday evening in the pissing rain did the trick then Tom! Mighty impressive to say the least.
