started flowing my turbo manifold last week. matched the ports to the gasket, then started on the turbo end of it. and started thinking.

bear with me. this isnt me telling this is me asking the experts a question.

well i was thinking that the wider its opened that end the slower the air will be coming out of it (presssure wise) so if you have it less opened it will have a higher air pressure spooling the turbo quicker at lower rpm. wheras when its opened more its a higher flow, but you will loose low end torque? so is it a trade of of what you want?

am i thinking along the right lines as i have opened mine a little but didnt want to go more untill i have the facts, heres a picture of what i have done... im assuming opening a litle will give me the best of both worlds or am i on the wrong track?

(edit: this is an aweful picture and makes it look a shambles but i can assure you its evener than it looks here lol)

thanks.

Because of how choked the mini exhaust system is all the porting you can do will only help to improve the flow rather than degrade it

Don't knife edge the fins. Think about it, what will happen?

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

You can thin them down, but leave a generous radius on them.
