How hard is it to replace a floor pan? Ive done a bit of welding in the past, had a go at the turbo box but got a welder to finish it because of the structual support it takes i wanted it to be right. I want a go at welding a panel onto the mini, is the floor pan a good thing to start, my drivers side one is knackered under the accelerator pedal, thats the only bit of rust on the whole car every other rusty panel was replaced in my first month of owning it :) Previous Engine: 1040cc Morespeed engine, 1275 turbo head T2 Turbo Mirage Manifolds Megajolt

Easiest thing is to get a 'pan' from the mini specialists, cut out the rust, then trim the new panel so there is a small overlap. Welding the whole pan in as it comes will promote rusting - basically, the smaller the area you've 'double skinned' the better. Watch towards the front of the 'pan' - this is where it gets tricky as there is three seperate pieces that all join together. Hopefully, yours isn't rusty around this area...
