what tools and how difficult is it to remove the bottom pulley, and swap it for a supercharger one? like jonspeed or are there any alternatives?

Lock your engine, knock back the lock tab and undo the big nut. Then just slide the pulley of.

Refitting is the reverse of removal.

you need to stop the crank from rotating or you won't be able to undo the big nut. I usually put and old crank shell into the flywheel ring gear teeth in the starter hole. If you just put it in gear it will probably just roll the car forwards/backwards.

Not sure on the nut size, but you'll need a big breaker bar to undo it and a torque wrench to do it back up.

The MPi bottom pulley has a multi v belt pattern in it, but you need to make sure it's the right size to spin your charger at the right speed.

Photos of the metro van are charged at £1 each *wink*

APbellamy I love the "Just slide it Off"... not my first experience *wink*

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

when you say an old crank shell into the where the starter motor teeth go does it get lodged in place?

The ends sit in the teeth of the ring gear, then you rotate the crank in the direction that you need to undo the bolt. The shell then sits against the transfer case. The shape of the shell is inherantly strong, so it acts as a lock. I put enough force on my flywheel puller to break the big centre bolt recently - the shell didn't budge.
