I am about to purchase the rest of the bits for my down pipe, and was wondering what the best method was to clamp the pipe to the turbo was? i have done a bit of searching but i cant find and good info on what style of flange was preferred? (shaven or just trimmed?)

I used a flare of an old exhaust pipe, trimmed it to fit, then warmed the flare up and hammered itaround on the exhaust housing to fit perfectly.

I made the flange out of solid plate, i think i put a slight chamfer on it, but as i welded it to the pipe it didnt really matter. Il try and get a pic later if you like |

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

I got hold of a Saab downpipe, cut the 90' bend off it before the cat. Just got to weld it to a metro turbo downpipe. Perfect seal to the turbo, as its the factory item! On 25th Sep, 2009 mini13 said:

Certainly is not as cheap as shaping a taper in 1.5mm stainless and welding it onto the down pipe. Just think that it will give a better fixing. On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:
