Thanks for the kind comments.

Ive made a bit more progress.

Repaired the pedal box, that I had to drill to remove from the old shell.

Master cylinder stripped, cleaned and repainted.

I haven't been on here much for the past couple of months so I was shocked to see how far this has come, your progress is staggering. The car looks fantastic as well, it must be a great incentive to get it finished once you have a painted shell. Are you planning on taking it to any shows this year? I'll have to make the effort to come and have a look at it.

Haha thanks for the kind comments, its not finished quite yet despite my best efforts. :)

Im still working on it, but been busy doing all the boring jobs like brake lines, fuel lines, rebuilding the master cylinders etc...and cleaning up endless amounts of brackets and stuff and painting them.

Im hoping to have one of the doors and boot lid in paint by the weekend. The bonnet and other door are at the soda blasters at the moment.

I'll post some more pics when there is something worth posting. *happy*

Nearly finished!

Unfortunately the engine is only running on 3 and after a compression test cylinder number 2 has no compression what so ever. Hopefully it'll be a sticking valve, I really don't want to have to take it all back out again. *oh well*

Zero compression has to be a valve, unless there is a hole in the piston, which is unlikely. Good work, will this be the vehicle of choice for Avon; I'll guess that it'll just break 22 seconds!

Thanks for the comments. :) Ive never driven a mini with an engine smaller than 1275 so it should be an experience!

I'll probably be taking this one to MITP to do a few 1/4 miles. *happy*

Wil - Thats encouraging to hear, there is definitely no holes in the pistons (where there wasn't when I put the head on). I did notice that a valve clearance on that cylinder was WAY out so could well be it!

Oli - I don't think they are tbh. Your best bet would be to try minimail or somewhere like that to see if they have a second hand one. I had the horn push but had to modify my steering column to fit it as its off a mk3.
