I am running an aftermarket dump valve and had advice to block original one in the plenum.

I've just got a bolt though the hole on mine with a big washer & loctite on either side. Been fine for 10+ years. |

run a 3/8" BSP tad down the hole an use a taperd hex blank, job done!
