is there a reason for this?

Its because the pulley is needed to run the SC. I have an BMC original pulley turned down to run the SC the trigger wheel that bolts on to the two tapped holes and runs between the pulley and the timing cover.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

see i believe that i have to use the jonspeed pulley as the kit i have bought only suggests using this one,

i was hoping that i could have got a top hat style trigger wheel and put that onto the charger i guess this isnt possible

I don't know what kind of bottom pulley you have.
I have a Mpi bottom pulley and had 36 -1 milled in it.

that seems a good idea but isnt the mpi pulley 5 groove and the bini sc 6? and how do you run your fan and alternator

You are correct, Mpi 5 groove, Bini 6.
A 5 groove belt should be ok, have never heard any complaints.

I don't know what kinda setup you run, mine has (if it will ever be finished) the SC over the manifolds as in the suck through set-ups with an extra pulley on the timingcover.

Like this but then on an A-series (should have a pic some where but can't find it)

Edit: I would place the extra pulley a bit further down so the belt runs over the waterpump pulley a bit more to reduce potential slip.

You can use the specialist components triggerwheel kit with the Jonspeed pully.

Blister,
I got mine from a wrecking yard.
Be sure to also get the pulley for the altenator and waterpump.
To align the altenator pulley I had to reduce the thickness of the spacer that is behind the pulley.

There are some suppliers around that supply a pulley that have both multi groove and v belt groove incorporated in one pulley.
This guy built his own pulley arrangement, with triggerwheel.

It's from a build on TMF:

lockfast: that will work out 300 pound as the pulley is 150 and the specialist components trigger wheel is 150 :s bit to expensive for me

as i know that the jopnspeed pulley lines up already is there not a universal trigger wheel that i can have tack welded onto it?

If you go for mpi bottom pulley you need to change the waterpump and altenator pulley too.
Can't imagine you can't get a set in the UK, maybe someone here on the site knows an adress?
You can always do a post in the wanted section of this forum, you never know...
