I have owned this car for six and a half years and it is a well known throughout the local mini scene. History on the car is that it was rebuilt in 2006 after a really bad crash left her in cat C state. I took it upon myself to fully rebuild her from scratch and sourced another shell and commenced to build a real stunning show car and from the pictures you can see the results.
Having spent more than double the asking price, (receipts to prove) the labor (and lots of it) was only the free part. This is my most loved possession, however recent fatherhood has prevented me from enjoying her usage. I therefore feel that she deserves to go to a new home where it can get the love and affection it needs.
As I have said I've carried out all the work on the car myself to a professional standard with everything colour coded during the rebuild with the subframes and running gear all powdercoated either blue or silver. Whilst putting the car back together I also went out my way to replace every nut and bolt with stainless steel ones to prevent the problem I had of never being able to undo anything due to rust.
I have added an alarm which is also an immobiliser, but not thatcham approved as they wanted it installed via themselves so never got the certificate.
I built the car for track use as well as for show's but after building in 2006 I never really drove it very far as I didn't want to ruin the hard work put into it or be far from home should I get caught out in rain. The car has seldom seen a wet road and never been driven in the winter, just purely a summer car. Due to this the car has only done 2000 miles since the rebuild.
The engine has been run in and settled and when built it was expected to produce over 120 bhp but haven't had this proven.
The car was stripped again in 2008 where it underwent a full respray in BMW jet black and then put back together. (a few untidy places on it warranted the respray.)
When I insured this car it was only via HIC (herts) where I had an 'agreed' valuation of £10,000 due to the modifications and labor put into it. So when looking for insurance for it, it would be worth phoning them up as they know the car.
I was considering turbo-ing the car this year but after realising it still wont get me back to driving it, I have decided to find it a new home, however the few bits that I have collected up so far towards the project would be more than welcome to go with it. I had an electric fan fitted but since the car only ran at 1/4 in temperature I removed it but the wiring and relay are still fitted as everything is on proper connections.
Bad bits about it:
Speedo doesn't work, I have been battling with this since day one of owning the car. Needs a new set of clocks.
Rocker Cover need's replacing due to some unsightly rust.
Scratch on drivers side window ( Have two matching windows as replacements )
All these bad bits will be fixed prior to the car being handed over should it be sold.
Otherwise everything else on this car is perfect with the underside being clean as it has always been maintained.
When sold it will come with a fresh 12 months MOT and 6 months tax.
A custom made car cover is available for purchase should it be required.
This is not your average mini so unrealistic offers won't be replied to.
