Hi all, had a search but i couldn't find any definite answers to my questions so here they are:

1) Are MPI heads the same as A and A+ heads??

2) Can I run an MPI Inlet mani on a A or A+ head??

Thanks in advance

Cheyne

The MPI castings differ in that they have mounting holes for the alternator bracket & no temp take off hole.

I believe the MPI head has no water temperature sender, although this is rectifiable, also there is the alternator mounts on the head but that isn't really relevant!

*yeah, what Phil said*

Ok thanks for the replies. Other than what has been stated above are they all the same internally then??

So would i be able to use an MPI inlet mani on an A/A+ casting then??
Obviously I would need to be able to control the Injection but that isn't a problem.

Thanks
Cheyne

I am currently fitting an MPi manifold to a pre injection head, and yes, it fits fine.

The ports differ in size slightly but it shouldnt make any odds, but thats because im using a 998 engine.

If you use a head that cannot accept the manifold locating rings of the MPi inlet, you need to carefully position the manifold when bolting it up, or, mark everything up in relacion to a manifold gasket then drill and fit dowels.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...
