I have got the minispeed cam in mine this year and seems to be ok Although I dont know wat the lobe figures and angles are as they wont tell me so I will reserve judgement untill I fit my MG cam and give that a run.

What I can say is that I run upto 10psi and the thing puls like a train the down side is that where my last cam spun the turbo up at 2200rpm the minispeed one spins it up at 3000rpm

I'm going to be trying the RE13T,

it appears to be shorter seat timing than the ph2 but more duration once off the seat on the intake,

the exhaust has less lift then the Ph2, but I think the effective duration ends up similar.

so to sum up, similar or less overlap but more intake for the same lift, and the same exh for less lift.

I'll know more once I get one an plot it

Oh and a deciding factor for me was the price of the RE13.

After trying some cams (274sp, 274i, phase two...)
I'm now store religiously every mg/na cams that I cross.
It's just the best effective cam in a turbo mini, timed straight in 108°. no more no less.
the phase 2 is also a very good cam making certainly a tad more umpps past 4500, but regarding me it doesn't worth the trade under this, as you can correct the little difference with a bit of boost or a h/l rocker ( not my pref).

Finally the choice is more your usage/boost target than which cam is good, a cam will be good for one guy which like keeping/trashing in the revs, but not for the other one which like something more tonic at 2500, it's about the same with turbo choice.

Anybody got an engine running with the megadyne 266 in ?

Very similar to the MG metro cam, but with slighty more inlet duration and a norrower LCA and slightly more lift on the exhaust side.

"So wat we gonna do tonight Brain?"
"Same thing we do evernight Pinky!"

the 266 is certainly good,
the mg one have a better balancing between inlet/exhaust (a turbocharged engine build more exhaust gas) then the lca is lightly better with 107.5 vs 106 (not sur if 1.5° will be that noticable but every little help)

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

the kent 266 is great!

T3tony runs one on his 1380 it made 183 bhp at 13psi on hybrid turbo of some sort

the phase 2 cam for big numbers!! all the way!

dont discount the kent MD 274sports injection with power band 1000 rpm to 6000. figures in short

cam lift 0.285" inlet 0.281" ex,

248 deg inlet 274 deg exhaust

a little bit of correction, 183 bananas please :)

Would you mean it wouldn't have been the same (or better) with a 252/268° cam@ 108° lca mg n/a cam);the 266 is optimised for a free flowing exhaust and a good intake ( you can have a good intake with a turbo pusing inside, but the exhaust will still "very" restricted), that's why you need more exhaust timing on a turbocharged a serie , I would put my hand that you'll take about 10 monkeys with a 276/286 exhaust timing on your 266 child all this at 108/110 lca,or then you could just buy an avonbar phase2
the 274 have been tried by somes, me including and it doesn't have the top of a phase 2, and this without the grunt/good balance of the mg n/a cam, a good cam just eated by both mg n/a and phase2.

Mine may have been ancient, welded dizy, laggy turbo etc, but around 97/98 I put the SW5 in, which was a bit better than the old MG cam I had in

very torquey right from 1000rpm, and would pull very strongly to over 7k.
No idea of any of its stats tho

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

Did a little looking a while back and the MG, Kent 266 and SW05 were damned near identical in there profiles Mr Dodd did a stirling post on cams on another forum the link is on here (as I put it on) and even the cam design I derrived for mine was yet again near identical to the above three. I have seen no figures for the phase2 cams or some of the others mentioned but there seems to be very little room to manouver around what is the best cam profile for a turbo.

Would love to see each of these cams thrown in an identical engine and put on a dyno *happy*
