Hi all,
Its been a while but I am unfortunately one of those people that had an original mini, took the engine out in the hope of doing the metro turbo conversion and then never quite finished it off..One thing led to another and the car is still sitting at my parents house in the garage not quite finished..
It would be a waste to leave it there (especially after the time & money I had put in) and so I have decided to see if I can get a someone to help finish it off.
In terms as to what has already been done:
Old 998cc engine removed
Bulkhead conversion completed & added some heat reflective material
Got a half decent metro turbo engine
stripped and reconditioned the gearbox with a 4 pin diff
Fitted a duplex timing chain
Fitted avonbar phase 2 cam
Fitted fuel tank with pump & 8mm fuel lines
Benross from these forums enlarged my cylinder head 
and generally got the engine built & ready to go in
Pretty sure I have got everything I need to finish the job including new exhaust, radiator, metro turbo dizzy etc etc
In terms of what needs to be done:
New engine to be fitted & wired/plumbed up (need help)
Reconditioned 4 pot brakes to be fitted (& balanced?) (need help)
New exhaust to be fitted (should hopefully be able to do this myself)
Interior to be fitted (should be able to do this also)
There are probably a few other things that I have forgotten..
If your wondering why I am not able to do this on my own its because all the previous work was carried out with the help of 2 mates who are car nuts but have now unfortunately moved away and there are a few things that I am unsure about how to do..Also I do not have as much spare time these days as I have a full time job & have moved out of my parents house (although am only 5 mins away..)
Ideally if there is a local enthusiast who knows what they are doing and that they think they could help me (I am in Crosby, North Liverpool) please PM me. I am happy to pay reasonable rates for your time.
Failing this, if anyone knows of a mini specialist I would be glad to hear of them, although obviously if I could get someone that would be able to come to me it would be preferable as it will be a bit of a nightmare getting the car anywhere as i have no car trailer etc...
Sorry for the long post but I wanted to try and cover as much as possible. Hopefully I have posted in the right place on the forum & there is someone out there in the NW who knows what they are doing :)
