hi all

this is going to sound a bit daft but i have sourced a 2A 948 camshaft (on page 266 in the vizard bible) now im planning on using it in a 1275 motor....but what im after knowing is what the cam is like ie power band lumpy idle etc and if it is suitable for my engine or if im just wasting my time btw the engine has a 3.4:1 diff in it with a 12g940 head if that helps atall

please help guys

That cam is from a 997cc Cooper. Probally the best standard production cam available up until the introduction of the MG Metro cam which is very similar. Power band is broad: tickover until about 6500. Not lumpy

very simlar to the swift tune SW5 cam spec.......... will run great if your on a budget ......dont froget to use NEW! cam followers

based soley on that i would say it will be a good cam, the mg metro cam is actually really good in an turbo engine one which i have chosen too
