i have the plug that goes on the distributor, and have found out that that coil is off a cavalier, it doesnt have + or - on it so if i connect it up wrongly what will i break? gonna have to guess which is which. |

You probably won't break anything as such but "conventional" coils are auto transformers (ie, the primary is wound in series with the secondary) so you wont get such a high voltage out if the primary is connected backwards. Check first with a DVM that the two low voltage connections are NOT connected in any way to the frame (ie, have no path to earth). If they do, it is not a "conventional" auto transformer and you could damage the module if connected wrongly.
Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ??? |
