Went down to Shakey for the first day of this on Friday.Awesome machinery,very creative engineering.Having run a disappointing 14.3 at Avon,despite sticky tires compared to last year,I bolted on 30 bhp of cheating gas and went for it.Despite the usual driver errors I got the Midget to hook up once and ran a 13.5/102 mph.That was the good bit.Next run,the red mist descended and I broke 1st gear.:$Managed to limp home on the other 3.Ho hum another Winter project.

Big part of it was being more brutal off the line I think,which probably broke the box.

So how do you not break the half shafts first Steve ?

I have to be careful off the line for that reason (Good excuse for my crap times tho )

Any pictures? I haven't seen or heard much about this car.

I was surprised the axle survived,but I do have competition shafts,double bearing hubs and traction bars on it,so maybe they just hang on.I'll know more over the Winter as I pull it all down.
