right, im having a little trubble with running lean.

all the hoses have been dubble cheaked and the fuel pressure, tuining screw all the way to rich.

first thought it was down to a slightly bent needle, so garys lent me a rich one, still feels lean.

ive had a look at avonbar and im going to get a standard turbo one from them.

question is should i get the standard spring, the 12oz spring and there modded needle as well.

I understand that needle will need work on a rolling road, would the modded one be a starting point?

sorry if im going over stuff thats been covered before, just want your opion. im hopping to go on the rollers soon and dont want to be let down by a crap spring!

ps, i havnt tryed to do the t-peace trick yet!

ive read http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.php?p=vt&tid=159683

first off turning the screw will do jack shit at anything much above idle,

how is you pump & feed plumbed?

what make you think its running lean?

hi mate, was thinking of calling ya, thought i might put it on here first as i allways call you lol!

mpi pump, using steal fuel line to the front and rubber for the return.

when the car comes onto boost, from ether full throttle or very slight, i sometimes get a stutter or miss fire. the boost is there just not the fuel, cheaked the plugs.

the dash pot spring does look a little soft.

Get a wide band hooked up, it will take out the guess work and save your engine!

Either that or get it on the rolling road and set it up properly, saves alot of time! Most garages will profile the needle for you... Try Atspeed in Essex, that's where mine was set up.

stuff two springs in and see if it has the right kind of effect before you spend out on a spring.

What sort of boost are you running?

I found that the Avonbar high boost needle was very good as a start for 100bhp+ engine.

I'm running 6psi at the moment. Haven't got a spare spring. Just don't want to get to the rollers and be let down by a crap spring.

Thinking of getting a standard needle and uprated spring. Then take it to uncle ray

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

I think we have the Avonbar high boost needle in the van running about 15-16 psi. AFRs are pretty good for most situations.

We find that a small tweak on the idle mixture screw will make a small difference to the over all fuelling.

As others have said, an AFR gauge is invaluable.

At 6psi, i'd keep the standard 8oz spring.
