hi,

New here, looking for ideas for my supercharger project.

I wanted to run the intake external, like sticking out the front of the hood, similar to the image below but obviously my intake would be to the left of the car because it wouldn't be running a twin cam lotus *surprised*

but if anyone has any pictures or knows what I am talking about, post some up please. I just like playing with ideas.

Your pictures shows pretty much what you want.
Now it is "just" a question of building the engine and having the carb where you want it.

What supercharger / carb you intend on running ?

Thanks for the reply,

I kind of wanted to know if it effected performance at all since I do see some people do it.

I would probably run the stock SPI setup with a vmax kit. I believe it uses the eaton m45 with the remapped computer would push it in the 120-130bhp range.

About the people you see having protuding filters, it is because they built their setup performance oriented.

You can build yours less performance oriented and then it can be properly under the bonnet.
It's your call.

There are no hard facts that I am aware off if it's better to have a Webber feeding your M45 and a filter over the bonnet or if it is better to have the filter in a case and a less flowing inlet tract (but regarding the fact it is boosted, I really doubt it).
