Check that the cones are fine, and that there's at least 0.8mm clearance between the baulk ring and gear face. On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:

You don't need to feel the grip. There is sufficient grip.

Just a thought, with 0.8mm being the minimum clearance what is an ideal clearance?
