more boring sccr gearbox help!

if you look down at a gearbox with the diff facing you ..........

you have two rows of gears a top row that seems to be machined from one piece and the bottom row that seems to be many seperate gears

on the bottom row the far left gear in my box has 29 teeth what is that gear ? its chipped a tooth and i need a replacement is that a sc gear like 1st or reverse or is that a new one i have to buy?

also what is essential to replace when rebuilding a gearbox?

That sounds to me like the final drive pinion...
Does it mesh with a big gear in the diff housing?
If so Im sure you will be able to find one from somebody on here

Pick a number and tell us which one has the problem.. i think from your discription it's first gear (1).

as you've got a 4 speed box im guessing unlike the pic

i have a spare turbo box will that do?

nothing is hard if you know want your doing , the haynes mini/metro manuel is good .basicaly your going to strip the box , which is agood time to overhaul ie new bearings etc.

Everyone knows that instructions only have to be read if the thing doesn't work....
