Having a few issues with starting mine up lately and just going to check over the timing but can't for love nor money find the degrees to set my 286 cam to. Does anyone know what degrees I should be running?

Err, I'm confused. Are you timing the cam in or the ignition? Unless your cam is way out then I doubt that it has much to do with starting.

*EDIT* Sorry bud was at work hence the quick straight forward reply. Yea I'm trying to check my ignition timing but can't remember what it's ment to be set to with my cam. I also knows its roughly a mixture problem but that im slowly sorting out. Just wanted to know if the ignition is how it should be thats all.

i think you may be getting a bit confused with cam timing and ignition timing, one does not relate to the other, Get the engine on no 1 firing stroke, the dizzy rotor should be roughly pointing to the 1.0oclock position, get some one to crank the engine and rotate the distributer lightly to get it to fire, then you will need a timing light or preferably a rolling road setup to finalise. 133.5 bhp 123 lb torque 116mph @6640rpm 9.5psi
