recently got my supercharged set up all fitted together so here is my problem it has trouble starting and and once it starts up it will just die but before it dies the revs build up on there own and then it dies!

to begin with the belt kept jumping off the supercharger pulley which i have now sorted but moving the pulley

engine spec is

1275 (9cc decom plate)
weber 40
eaton 45
suckthrough

i had it running before the charger was fitted running the weber 40 dcoe but now it just wont start

Have you checked fuelling? Sounds to me like the engine is getting starved of fuel ie. The fuel gets to the engine hense the picking up then dies again.

It sounds like an air leak.

Is everything on the carb tha should be plugged plugged, same for the SC. Are all the manifolds seated and sealed properly?

an unlit torch will provide a fuel for the engine to run on,

if it starts then the fuels not getting in.

didnt no if you was serious then

will have to try that then i have been putting petrol down the barrels of the carb which seems like it starts the engine and it runs for about 3 seconds,

i dont have a fuel pump on the engine as yet but i know i will have to get one but this cannot be the problem can it? if the fuel is getting to the carb as the pump will only be needed once the revs are built up

Erm, you need a fuel pump.

A standard fuel pump pumps fuel in at every rotation of the cam, your expecting the fuel to go up hill through a pipe with no pressure to push it? That might be your problem.

but thinking about it that could also contrabute to the idle problem due to the sudden rush of petrol each time the cam turns

ahhhhh....

it will run on any fuel in the carb float chamber, but theres no way the engine will suck the fuel into the float chamber,

get a can of fuel and some hosem put the hose in the can and put it up high (roof of the car) and connect it to the carb fuel line, then suck on the flat vent pip of the carb...

this will siphone fuel into the flkoat chamber and should get it started.

errrm. There is some truth in the fact that you don't need a fuel pump. But how have you filled the float bowls up?

I doubt that the fuel pump will be the problem, but are you sure that the float chambers are full before cranking?

is the flat vent pipe on the carb at the back where both the ram pipes are?
