Have you checked fuelling? Sounds to me like the engine is getting starved of fuel ie. The fuel gets to the engine hense the picking up then dies again. On 2nd Nov, 2010 wil_h said:

but thinking about it that could also contrabute to the idle problem due to the sudden rush of petrol each time the cam turns |

errrm. There is some truth in the fact that you don't need a fuel pump. But how have you filled the float bowls up? Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

I doubt that the fuel pump will be the problem, but are you sure that the float chambers are full before cranking?

ahhhhh.... it will run on any fuel in the carb float chamber, but theres no way the engine will suck the fuel into the float chamber, get a can of fuel and some hosem put the hose in the can and put it up high (roof of the car) and connect it to the carb fuel line, then suck on the flat vent pip of the carb... this will siphone fuel into the flkoat chamber and should get it started. is the flat vent pipe on the carb at the back where both the ram pipes are? |
