Hi all

i am new to minis i have just brought one and fancy doing the metro turbo convertion. i was after a bit ofinfo really probs what you get asked all the time :( sorry lol im just wondering how the conversion is done from metro turbo to mini and does the metro turbo engine have probles like for a daily runner im thinking of doing, just so i have an idea what im getting in to is it take the whole engine wiring etc and put it in to the mini or ??? i have a bit of no how li have just rebuilt a mk1 golf i no its different.
the only other thing is info on uprated preformance out of one after i have got it running
any info will be gladly recived

And also do a search on here, as you have said, all the information is on here!

You can drop the metro engine straight in but you need a bulkhead box welded in so the turbo will clear, and performance wise you can fit an intercooler and up the boost a little, but they run on the border of detonation so it's not wise to tweak with them standard too much, your best bet is to start from scratch, or get one, and put a lower compression head on it (Benross and Turbo Phil will both be able to do this for you) and then it won't go bang as quickly!

If your going for lots of power you should really start from scratch as higher boost = things break or melt
