Hello,

I have a japanese Mini with a LHD conversion (north american).

now my mastercylinder is right in front of my pedal box, and right in the way where the supercharger would go. would my only option be to relocate the cylinder? would this be possible?

you can see my master cylinder beside my air filter.

It is a 1.3i.

Thanks,
Jeff

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

I guess you need the pedal box that has bars that run inside the car to the correct drivers side and operate the master cylinders in the usual place.

clock tower with a sniper rifle

some of the 16v mini boys use southwest speed, wilwod or tilton pedals with cockpit mount masters (facing rearward) that way you can fit them under the dash. YouŽd better have a good read of different masters, ratios etc

The setup fitted to LHD european minis is with a bar inside and the booster on the RHS.

Actually I was wondering how it could be fitted the way it is on yours to make room for a remote turbo install.

Can we have some pics ?

The problem is finding the linkage. moving it back to the other side is fairly easy. I would be wondering if the linkage would also be in the way of the supercharger.

Id like to go supercharged route more than the turbo, mostly because I don't have to run a intercooler, or tap into any lubrication lines.

What do you guys think? Im pretty stumped. it is right in the way of where the pully would go too.

Jeff

edit: Also, if anyone knows where they do sell the linkage bars, Id love to know. Ive been looking for a while with no luck.

Hmmm - front mounted supercharger? It wouldn't be the first front mounted one (unless you insist on buying a 'kit') :)

Btw: the master cylinder is usualy turned 180°, with the reservoir facing the firewall!

Actually the bar of the european setup is inside the cockpit.

But you'll end up cheaper with a remote servo setup.

You can also loose the servo.
There is a thread on here about everybody's opininion on the subject.

If you are refering to the brake booster as the servo, I am not running that right now, as you can see I have no room on that side! Braking is okay... running 7.5s but I will need a upgrade for sure.

found an image of one, and I see what you mean. Hopefully it will fit behind my heater unit. This particular man is from china who creates these himself for sale for about $100.

if anyone else has information on where to purchase a bar like that give me a shout.

should be easy to find in europe, and quite cheap, at least here in Germany.
and its not only the bar, the pedal box is differend, too, as the bar is welded to the brake pedal.
and you will have to lower the back of the heater to fit

I might just remove the heater box altogether but I am not sure at the moment.

Id like to find one locally in Canada, but I don't think that will happen any time soon. What will have to be done with the clutch pedal? I assume the only pedal I do not have to touch is the gas? or is everything completely different...

Thanks

IIRC the clutch pedal is the same, but i think you will find a box with both pedals still fitted more easily.

if you're interested i could look out for a set of this, sometimes a mini is found at the scrap yard here

I sourced one around my area. He is selling the linkage for 100 bucks. Thank you though.

Now my parts supplier who I purchase stuff off of sells his own supercharger kit, he told me he will look into it because he thinks I might not have to change the location. So I guess I will wait and see what he thinks.

Do you guys have any idea on a different supercharger design that wouldn't foul the cylinder, besides mounting it up front?

Hi,

Still haven't figured out the problem yet, Id like not to run the bar as it would save me effort.

Would it be possible to modify or run a smaller cylinder that wouldn't foul? Anyone have experience on the subject?
