Nial.
Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.

Nial. What cc ? What cam ? What rockers ? NA or turbo ? Std '93 1275 NA, but I don't want to know what it should be, just what the normal range could be, I'm fairly sure mine's too low and the idle AFR is _very_ variable. However, for a 1275, I know that for an HIF44, to get a steady AFR within the range 14:1 - 15:1, then the jet height can vary between cars as to be level with the bridge to about 3 mm down the jet holder (which is about where mine is on my turbo van on an HIF44).
Great, thanks for that, would you expect to get a 'solid' idle AFR which the engine will return to (+/- a small amount) every time the engine returns to idle? It was early last week when I measured it but I think the jet's sitting a good bit more than 3mm down (4.5?). I think I'll look at the float level again. Thanks, Nial. |

Sounds too rich if the jet is that low.
