I have been offered a 'mullered' GT17, correct fitment for a mirage manifold for £30. I only want one for mock up purposes. What are peoples opinions on the price? Too much?? About right??

Cheers

sounds fair. How mullered is it? Is it rebuidable?

CR turbos quoted me £300 to rebuild i think.

I took a "mullered" one off ebay earlier this year for £20 plus postage (I think it was £30 total) for just the same reason.

Some thought it was good, some bad.

If there are any parts salvagable or it can be accepted by a company for a rebuild, that's a bonus.

But as far as I'm concerned it was worth £30 just to have as a mockup and pull to pieces to see where the weak points, wear points etc. are.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

Hey Wil and Rod. Thanks for your opinions. Without actually seeing the item up close, i know that the compressor turbines are completely shot so i dont know? Can that be rebuilt?

And Rod, i think you are right, it will be useful for mockup and spares if nothing more

The place I bought my turbo (turbo active) will accept anything as an exchange unit. I gave them a gt17 that not one part on it was reusable, I know that because I built it out of all my fubar'd spares. *hehe!*

Hey Matty, how much did it cost you to replace your GT17 with exchanging your fubard turbo? And who was the company? Thanks
