It's worth what you want to pay, complete ones go around £500 usually, this one is in bits though, so if your building it yourself be prepared that lots of parts will most likely need replacing. If your on a budget then maybe this is the best option, otherwise you'd be better to get a stock 1275 engine and uprate the pistons and head, and use that!

As said, it's entirely down to what you are willing to pay for it. I personally wouldn't buy it since it's been sat around for 5 years but that is just me. If you've got the money to replace bits that will inevitably need replacing go for it but I'd rather see an engine before I consider buying it.

i dont see why being sat is an issue, the newest metro turbo engines are all over 20 years old now and anything you buy needs stripping down and rebuilding.

i would look at it all first the hard bits to find are the return drain, carb, turbo, and manifolds if these are in good condition then its worth buying, if there shot then its not as you can buy a 1275 fairly cheaply and in affect thats all you are getting

Being sat in a cold damp garage is never going to do it any good compared to keeping it inside the house (like mine) and the amount you'd pay to get the bores honed because they've rusted you might aswell buy another slightly more expensive engine but in better nick.

thats crap as i said metro tubo engines are at least 20 years old and anything you buy will need rebuilding so a hone is irrelavent

personally i would not pay the premium of a turbo engine, i would get a good 1275 rebuild it as a turbo and buy the turbo manifolds and carb seperate, you know what your getting and how good it is then

I'm with wolfie... my car sat for 14 years when I first got it I ran it as my first car for 2 years. It then sat for another 11 years until I started to use it again, in 2007 I put the SC kit on it and its been running over x2 the power since then.
The bottom end was built in 1969.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.
VEMS + 12 PSI + Liquid Intercooler = Small Bore FUN!

Not really when you consider someone else might be selling a turbo engine that has been run recently and rebuilt before. But each to their own, like I have already said.
