After wasting two evenings changing the turbo elbow gasket on my 200sx I found the take off for what I asume is the egr valve on the manifold is also blowing, out of curiosity have been looking at stainless manifolds and have noticed there is no take off for the valve on these, is it necessary to have one?

The thing is, on modern cars, they will go to limp mode if disconnected. I've deattached it on my 99 530D and this is about the last it's possible to from BMW. Edited by Vegard on 5th Oct, 2010. On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:
Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |
