Looks like a bike rad to me. The in/outlets are fairly small so you will need to drop the hose size down which may reduce flow.

We have one similar for the van. It will be used as an auxilary rad, just after the turbo.

I was thinking of relocating to a front mount, ditching the yellow fan but using the manual water pump while using a thermo fan instead.

if i run some pipe to that would it be to long for the water to travel?

and if the pipes are a bit thinner would it restrict it?

im trying to find out the in-outlet size in mm but all I have is 3/4

anyone know the mini's pipe size.

IIRC....

Mini or Metro is 28mm (1 1/8") on water pump stub.
Mini thermostat housing is 25mm (1")
Metro thermostat housing - which some of us use with a front rad because it has the tapping for a header tank - is 32mm (1 1/4").

The Mini (side mount) radiator stubs are both 25mm (1") - the standard bottom hose is different sizes at each end.

But, like I say, that's IIRC - someone will correct me if I'm wrong. They are certainly all more than 3/4" though.

My measurements for my cooling system are the same as Rod's measurements.

I've had a few rad's in search of the right one. Most seam to use 32mm i.d. hoses (e.g. Metro, fiat cinc).

Why get a custom one when you can get an OEM style one for £30 delivered...

I did speak to Fast Carl about one for the van, but he says the cores are too expensive to make it worth while if you are on a budget

As Andy says, at least over here, why ???

We can get the Metro and Fiat ones very cheap in the UK.

What you can fit will depend a lot on your configuration ie, roundnose/clubman, what alternator you are using, whether the dizzy is there or gone for MegaJolt (or, better still, proper engine management :) ), which type of starter motor, where you are going to put the intercooler, etc.
