I,ve bitten the bullet and got not one, but two GT1752,s to play with.

As far as I can see, I need to rotate the compresor housing to get the outlet pointing upwards but this then has the oil drain hole at the top !

Can I just reverse the flow of oil through the bearing housing ?.

You need to get the oil drain at the bottom. This will involve rotate both the compressor and turbine around the centre housing.

Thanks Paul - the simple answers are always the best (especially for a simple person)

NO, no not a twin turbo A35, I just got a BOGOF offer so I took it -gives me one to mock up with and generally learn about it and one to use.

Roberts build thread now has a few pics missing and I couldn,t quite work it out from the final instal pics that are there.

BTW, any body know where I can find the thread on rebuilding a turbo - I have searched without success.

Good choice of turbo. Will you be the first gt1752 A35?

Go for it, you've seen what they are capable of.

Are you going to put a challenge up against the Metro Van next year?? We've got a new turbo. Not a T3 and not a GT17....

Probably not. I,ve been talking to John about your engine spec and, although I could probably match your present power, you will have moved on by then. Also, the van is tons lighter - the A35 weighs 890kg with a full tank and I,m another 105kg
Just looking for leetle bit more power and better low rev driveability.

Yep. More boost, more power, less weight. Bring on the 13's

Van weighs around the 800kg marker I think. Hopefully get it on the weighbridge soon.

Brett - not to my knowledge and I have been an active member of the A35 owners club for 40 years. (I am discounting any competition cars which may have escaped my attention and refer only to road going ones) A good friend of mine has the customised A35 that was at Avon in July, but I beat him to the road ,with a turbo, by weeks only.Way back in 1983 we had a supercharged one in the club and I know that had been done well before that too.We have another Shorrock supercharged one in the club, with all period add-ons as well, including wire wheels.(My (old) car had wire wheels too)

If anyone knows of any other turbo A35,s I would love to be put in touch with them, just to compare notes.

Lizard, I assume you have seen the comprehensive rebuild kits that are available for around £60 ?

Yep. As soon as I've got some cash I'll be rebuilding it.
