i am after moving a few things around

1, done a search and i am looking at moving my wiper motor under the dash on the passenger side how would the wipe be lengthened and will the cord/cogs inside have enough length?

2. also when fitting a battery behind the drivers seat is this to help corner weight when using a central tank? and what are the advantages of this over moving the battery to under the bonnet?

i think it would be hard to lengthen the wiper cable thing, but the section between the passengers side wiper and the motor could be bent to any shape bet you could slot it under there some how.
If you can get you battery under the bonnet do it all the more weight over the front wheels!

I am sure I aanswered an almost identical question to this , over on TMF
and this is what I said

I mounted mine on the inner wing under the lower dash rail on the inside of the car. I used a new wiper rack and cut it to length and flared up a new piece of Kunifer 7/16 pipe, carefully bent it to shape so that it passed through the bulkhead via a 20mm hole that was already there. It looks like it should have always been like that.

Sorry, no pictures

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Why would you want MORE weight over the front wheels?

Why not keep it in the boot? On my hillclimber I have it wher the passesnger seat would be as close to the centre of the car as possible.

I'm removing my battery box and putting a light weight battery under the bonnet (if it will fit with inner wings in place). Primarily to save weight (removing the battery box, the long supply cable and it's clamps).

In theory more weight over the front wheels will help with traction won't it??

I've fitted a lightweight battery where it's supposed to be in my race car. Why not, that's where I'd want more weight...

What do you mean by 'supposed to be' V?

Under the bonnet or in the boot?

Worryingly I'm starting to think a bit like that. Leave things how they are meant to be!

Arrghh! I'll be buying a standard car next!

I'm just making mine the way I want it to be. Unfortunatly, that keeps changing....

That would work well, until you came to a speed hump....

Yes more weight woule improve traction. But when is this needed? drag racing or grass tracking. In all other instances moving weight rearwards to quaual axel loads will be an advantage (braking cornering etc)

My battery is in the passenger seat area as I have no boot floor and the reduction in cable length is a weight advantage.
