Ello peeps. I've searched and searched but can't find any info on the problem I have. I acquired so 'turbo' pistons ages ago and have a query about rings. Most of the standard pistons I see have 3 grooves for rings however mine have 4. Whats the deal with these then lads???

They are not Metro Turbo Pistons. They look like Early A+ 1275 +0.030" pistons to me

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Your bang on right sprocket. I've just dug out a standard A+ block out and tried to drop them in and guess what, they don't fit the bore. Bugger!!!!

+015 and +030 were common rebore sizes in the good old days.

I've got a standard engine, pre A plus block and 4 ringed pistons stamped +030 as well (but no part number, just the oversize stamped).

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

Keep the pistons. It's easy to fit .040 rings to them if you've got the correct tool to grind them down.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

I've just used a pipette on the piston dish and I'm getting 21ml. I've googled how to convert this to cc and it says it's the same. If so then this is a massive bowl, or am I just being a retard???
Any ideas????

yep a cc is the same as a ml, also a ml of water weighs 1 gram iirc,

sounds like your measuring has gone awol, those pistons should be around 9-10cc

Well I thought I was going mad but I'm definatly not. Measured them again and getting 20+ ml in there. I've used a medicine spoon this time and poured in x4 5ml and it's just shy of the sides.
Here's a couple of photo's to show how deep the dish is.
