they are used on large lawnmovers. they charge between 10 and 18 amp and need a regulator on the side.

Yes there off a kabota (not sure if thats how its spelt) obviously just enough chargre for the race and small and light.

I asked this when I was at Combe last, apparently they're from a Kubota digger!

Those engine bays in the pics are both se7ens by the way! Single barrel being used on the webber and dizzy ignition

he says he's upgraded to one with a built in regulator, that could be interesting.

They aren't that good on a road car, they need to be run flat out to charge, which wont work well on the road, but they are good on the track.

If you use the type with a regulator you cant over rev it as it cuts out at a certain amount of power output as with the Denso type

I seriously doubt it!

I don't think the over rev problem is a voltage issue, like you say the regulator will sort that. But the rotor might disintegrate at high rpm.
