Turbo A series can make anything from the standard 94bhp to 300bhp, depending on how much you spend on it.

We measure the cars on the 1/4 mile drag strip, I stand to be corrected, but I have never seen a supercharged A series Mini run what I would call a fast time, e.g. in the 13 seconds area. The fastest road turbo cars are now in the 12 second bracket.

Welcome.

Tom is right superchargers have not delivered the goods yet probably due to not having one available that is 100% suited to A series

Paul

I seriously doubt it!

Tom is right about superchargers. If I ever finish my car, it will be suck through supercharged (not M45) and I wouldn't expect more than 120-130 bananas so not expecting much better than 16 seconds 1/4 miles if I'm lucky.

That said, planed future mod's include heads with more ports, fuel injection and blow through super charging with a modern none oem charger picked for it's suitability on a compressor map not just 'that'll fit'. Aspiring to be comparable to some of the turbo boys around the 200 banana mark....

12 seconds is a big ask for 200 bananas, you'd need closer to 300.

have a search for gt17. lots of interesting reading for you

You can achieve 12s with 200 bananas and a light enough car but itll take a few years development

I seriously doubt it!

As Paul says it really is a case of 80 20 theory. 20 percent of the final result takes 80 percent of the effort.

Relatively cheaply you can throw together a mini that will return a mid 14 second quarter mile. But, to get into the mid to low 13`s takes some doing after that.
