Any body got a good source for genuine or good quality repro ones? As minispares are out of stock until the new year, and its hard to know what your getting from the other suppliers.

For instance minisport list genuine rings for £6.39 which can't be right as there usually £20+ http://www.minisport.com/mini-spare-parts/info_22G2033.html

Minisport mostly supply inferior products and pass it off as genuine with a genuine part number. What you see in the picture, is usaly not what you get.

Also, if its competition specification and suitable for road, how does that make it genuine? when genuine ones would be suitable for the road, and perhaps ok for competition?

Hope that helps you make your mind up what to buy

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Are your current ones definately knackered? Aslong as they push onto the cone and dont bottom out or turn they will be fine to use again

Paul

I seriously doubt it!

I agree with paul. I re-used my original bulk rings as they were in good condition and better then the "competion" ones I'd bought from a reputable suppier.

I agree too. Old rings are preferred as long as there is ATLEAST 0.8mm clearence to the gear itself.

Two of them measure less than 0.8mm, they dont bottom out but i was overly confident in using them.

Will see if i can find some old boxes to strip.

If it's only for a short while, then OK, but they WILL wear out. I wouldn't. Try them on a different cone.
