Hi guys

Am I honestly asking too much for the mk2?

Item number: 250709320456

On eBay. Sorry I can't link as I'm on ipoop

I know its a lot but it just reflects the price the panels etc have cost me, the shell although it is in a bad way has all its tags etc I hate to sell it but it has to be done.

I have loads of watchers but no real offers

Any ideas on a suitable price?

Cheers

as most people will say, 'its only worth as much as people will pay for it'

imo yes its more than i would pay for a shell in that condition be it a mk2 or not, but i'm sure someone would pay that though.

Somewhere around Swindon

i dont think its way overpriced however you can buy a nice usable example for as little as 2k the market imo has fallen a bit flat

problem you face is tha minis are now second cars so a luxury and people just cant afford luxuries at the moment

you may be better off using a site like car and classic moment

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

We're just coming out of a recession and lots of people are loosing there jobs. It's just the wrong time to be trying to sell something like that.

You could always put it on an auction with a high reserve. If it doesn't meet the reserve, let it go to the highest bidder if the price is OK.

Betwix Harrogate and York

As you have all the history and the panels to renew I think it's worth that.

Might just take some time.

I dont think its way over the top but as everyone has said times are tight.

I sold a set of bbs split rims recently that would have got big money a while back but struggled to shift them at a cheap price.

As long as your not desperate to sell then the right person will come along at that price i reckon.

Good luck with the sale,Ross.

Carnforth, Lancs

Someone asking if it was still for sale on the Mk1 forum - I have added a link to the auction for you.

How much did the panels cost?

People might think it's a lot for a Mk1 but if they don't realise they'll
pay a lot more for a rough shell _and_ the panels it looks expensive.

If you edit to say the panels were £1,200 then it looks cheap.

Cheers Graemec, thanks for the feedback Rosco and Nial, I know I won't get exactly the price I paid for everything back and maybe I should put rough figures for the panels in? Just so people get an idea? But to be honest the way I see it, whoever will be looking to seriously buy it and take on a project like that would know how much it is worth?

Aye but it take a bit of time and effort to go away and price up the
panels.

I'd quite like an older mini restoration at some point but haven't got a clue what you'd pay for all the panels you've got!

If a rough price is there it's a guideline at least.

I think putting the prices of the panels will be worthwhile as not everyone realises the cost of decent panels as opposed to pattern rubbish.

I think your right about a serious buyer knowing its value.

Cheers Ross.
