I have just wired in my new tim oil pressure gauge with sender and as soon as i start up the pressure goes straight upto 100+ psi. Is this the right sort of presure for a new build or have i wired he gauge wrong?

That is way to high. Half the presure could do it. It sounds like it is wired wrong. If not, check the presure relief valve.

if its electronic sender sensor thing, check its referencing the correct voltage, mine are 5v or there abouts, if wired up wrong they can easily read double
