Does anyone know what pressure the standard blow off valve should operate at on a standard metro turbo? I have gradually incresased the boost via a bleed off valve on the waste gate pipe to around 8 psi (slthough the boost gauge works the ECU no longer seems to want to step the boost automatically at 4k so thought I would beed off to achive same instead) and it now sounds as it the valve is operating. When I change gear the boost increases to around 12 then drops so I thought it was 12 but given the noise it makes at full boost I'm not sure it's not operating before this.

Thanks for the info. How do you get boost above this then -do I have to blank off and fit a different one of can I pack out the existing to riase its operating pressure? |

Remove the hose to the ECU and fit a bleed valve. Make sure you get the car tuned afterwards or you risk melting something. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:
i tried putting soap on it , and heating it to brown , then slathered my new lube on it

Yes you can just block it off, or pack it out. |
