Hey people. Just after some advice on piston choice. Basically i have my mind set on some accralite forged pistons to go in my turbo motor, and i am a mouse click away from buying but not sure what size cc to choose. I have not considered compression ratios yet or decided on what spec head to use on the motor, but surely i can adapt the head to suit the compression ration later once the short engine is built up???? But i have the choice between +20 6cc or + 20 18cc. What is my best option?? Should i hang on a while and decide on a head and compression ratio before or can i decide on this later???

Maybe abit of a newb question to the more experienced members but thats why I need help :)

Cheers, Bill

I would go for the 18's,

with the 6's you will need to get the chamber taken out to over 30cc to get the CR down to about 8.5:1

with the 18's you will need a head chamber around standard volume, meaning you can see what the head ends up as and skim it to suit if needed

£300! That is a bargain!

Go for 18cc. It will leave more options with the head.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

Hey guys, Thanks for the advice, i will go and get them ordered next week. Out of interest, whats the difference between the forged accralites and the forged Omegas, bar the £150 price difference??

And cheers Oliver, you have been a great help to me recently, i will call them direct tomorrow :)

Good question,

Omega now own accralite, IIRC before the buy out the omega's cost less than the accralites,

the accralites are a fine piston, so its not worth worying about.
