I'm keeping the standard look to my dash, but trying to remove as much weight from the car as possible.

Standard top rails are quite heavy, so was thinking of a fibreglass one (don't need the ash tray or vents). Does anybody know any where that does them? I've tried the usual suspects, but no luck

Cheers Oli

I've mailed them Nick, will wait and see what they say.

Maybe it's time I added fibreglassing to my list of poorly executed 'skills' lol

I've been having a mail conversation with Arc Angels about this. He will do them at £50 if I can get a few orders. He has to make new tooling etc.

I weighed a standard rail yesterday and it was 1.8KG. He expects the end product to be around a 1/4 of that weight.

If you're interested add your name to the list.

Gents , just somthing to think about, where that top rail sits ? whats it fastened to ??? yes the scuttle and what goes in that gap??
The windscreen?? i only have a scuttle and no inner rail but a plastic window and im going to have to make somthing to strenghen it as it flexes like mad.

Just a thaught.

Rick, I think he means just the top dash rail cover if you will - the upholstered bit, not the steel rail.

That's what I want.

I'm assuming you would have to cut out for the vents and ash pan.

Rick, it's just the trim piece not the metal rail below.

I'll be having mine flocked along with the rest of my dash bits

Had another mail from them. The price is £50 for a minimum of 3 (including mine). In his words - '10 orders and the £40 mark would be do-able'

£40 may be worth taking a punt on

I've also put it up on 16Vminiclub to try and get the numbers up. Can anybody suggest anywhere else I could put it (not TMF)

This thread is just gauging interest so that I can give him numbers. I'm not expecting anybody to commit until things are firmer with Arc Angels.

I'm going to be cheeky and put you on the list Luke.
