If the pump is too big and/or the return line too small, the pressure regulator (assuming you're using the Metro Turbo one) might not be able to keep the pressure low enough. EDIT - in light of miniminor63's comment below, I had assumed fuel pump..... If you're talking about the oil pump, ignore everything I said :) Edited by Rod S on 25th Oct, 2010.
