Hi,

The car is a 1994 but has a pre verto setup, MED Ultralight flywheel and all the pre verto bits. I've just changed the diaphragm from a Grey to a Orange and got the thing started but I've got a rattling from the clutch end. Goes away when I press the clutch pedal, still selects gears fine and has got rid of the grinding from reverse which I had a problem with.

Sounds like a release bearing problem? Idler gear?, it was fine before with the grey and I haven't touched the two big nuts? Any ideas? Not sure how its set as I've lost my Haynes too

Whats annoying me is that it wasn't doing it before. Doesn't sound healthy either you can hear it rattling away from far, I didn't take the flywheel off only changed diaphragm and clutch arm/slave

Any ideas? :(

Thanks

You probably need to adjust the return stop.
Its the 1/4"unf nut and bolt that limits the return travel of the clutch arm. You want 25 thou clearance between the head of the bolt and the clutch arm

Paul

I seriously doubt it!

Do I have to take the return spring off for that? Then pull the arm away?

Does it have straight cut drops? These rattle on idle slightly.

Right, adjusted the clutch and it seems to have gone all soft and won't select gears, either I've messed up adjustment or there's air in the system again?

Jackman, it has normal drops, only a SC box

Grrr!
