Australia oi oi oi!

what are the views on springs.

I read alot of Internet reviews MINITASTIC springs are wicked.

the fast road ones, give the best of both worlds.

any one used them compared to cones? im aware they can pop out
over bumps or when jacked up.

these ones seem not to suffer with this problem, being longer?

I've got a set, they are well made, the guy who sells them is very helpful too. The rear ones can pop out but only when jacking up or going over a bump fast.

Got mine from Huddersfield and when fitted with the lowered gaz shocks they should stay in place. Other than that they are crap. Biggest waste of money I spent.

If they are not the same brand then I appologise but I will be fitting cones in for next season.

I've had thoughts about springs for a long time, whether they would be worth it and what not!
Those minitastic ones don't seem tooooo expensive either.

I cannot comprehend that someone would fit springs that under any circumstance could pop out. This is lethal.

most have had not one problem with standard height mini's.

I find it odd also no one has come up with a fix Vegard.

it's as if they are aware of the problem but lets keep making them.

surely there would be a way to make them seat better & not drop out.

Especially as easy it would be to fit a helper spring, like this:

Its only an issue if you wind your hi-lo's in too much to the point your bump stops are hitting your upper arms.

I don't agree. It's a problem when the swing arms droops, this could be on pot holes or even regular driving in tight fast corners.

I agree totally with V and other people..... would anyone really fit springs knowing that they might cause a serious loss of control.......

Well as stated I have springs on mine, when the car is lowered to the extreme of the bump stops hitting the arm's this inturn leaves you with a shorter overall unit when I jacked mine up by an inch thus made the overall unit taller when the wheels were free of the ground the springs still had a little compression on them thus preventing them from falling out. I also pointed out that with the shorter gaz shocks for lowered cars they prevent the arms from falling too far thus allowing the springs to fall out.

If you fit springs with standard cones your car will look like it is on stilts.

Even doughnuts can fall out at the rear if you lower the car enough and don't fit lowered dampers.

This is not a new problem for these springs.

I have been in a car with them fitted and I'm yet to be 100% convinced.

I currently have silicon jos on the front of the Sprint, they're shit. Red dots are going in soon.

a bootmounted arb also restricts droop, worst case you could fit a chapel strap to one of the blades/parcel shelf

is there anyone on here using the minitastic race ones? on track?

Id think about fitting anti roll bars if fitting a spring kit.
IMO not worth the hassle.
