Filled with petrol (my god, it was £12 last time I did that, £35 this time!!) and now will start to think about getting it running properly, relaxing the now-tight handbrake a bit, and then a new dash... :)

Hey Dean,

Thanks mate. The car looks _much_ better in the photos than it does in real life - but it's alright.

The windows are all plastic :)

Looks good. Hows it running?

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Not too bad now I've done a few things, but I think it needs the timing checking as well as the mixture.

Also, I turned the boost right down - it was wondering around the 1.5 bar mark on the way to the MOT station, so I got a bit worried, and when I got it home i plugged up the open end of the bleed valve, and now it's running a tiny 0.4bar.
The car is now MUCH nicer to drive though - no more wobbling around on the road when on boost, so much easier to drive! There's a lot to be said for a sensible car!

1.5bar is 21psi! RESPECT!

You are on 5.8psi now.

Great photos. How do you get just the car in focus, and the rest not. I can never manage this on my compact.

So, today I finally spent a bit more time on the car. I have tapped into the inlet manifold and put a line to the DV from there (instead of the other side of the butterfly where it was before). I installed an adjustable boost bleed valve, and made a little hack to make it limit the boost when fully open, as well as still giving some boost when fully closed. I can adjust both ends of the scale too :) (and without the faff of adjusting the actuator) so that's pretty cool. I am sure there are better ways to do it, but it works and I'm happy with it. I also made a little mount out of Ally, and mounted the bleed valve thing in car (with the 'excess' being taken back out of the cabin).

So, it's now running that 5.6psi when the valve is fully closed for day-to-day plebbing about, and when fully open it's currently 12psi. I am going to gradually raise that as I use the car, as I am already enjoying the hike to 12, going up to the 16ish is going to be fun! :)

I also adjusted the firmness on the shocks and have it firm, but not back breaking, but also firm enough to stop the wheels scrubbing on the arches - perfect.

Here's a snap of it mounted in car. Ignore the mess, I know I need to clean it, but if you saw the state of the interior you'd realise why I haven't *wink*

:)

Nice car AlexB, did you get it dyno'ed? :)

Anyways, nice work and grats on getting it MOT'ed :)

It drives OK - I need to get the tracking and what-not done, but I'm not in any rush - the car barely does any miles. Last time I had the engine dyno'd it did 143bhp, but that was an over-read I think.
