Finally got around to doing some work on the car again. We're moving house in just over a week, so I really need to get it roadworthy so I can drive it to the new place.

So, Today I have done:
Fit subframe / inner wing brace.
Fit headlight and re-do the lighting wiring.
Fit the front arch.
Fit a few missing clips to the boost hosing.
Painted the rusty bit on the grille.

It's raining, so I don't want to move the car outside the garage, but I still need to a few jobs outside, so hopefully I can do those later this week when it stops.

Here's a few pics

:)

Bit more work today.

Fitted the cage (forgot how shit it is, so I've added buying a proper one on to my wishlist!). Fitted the 2nd seat. I fixed the exhaust (broken mount and missing clamp) and did a few other bits. I also realised that the door handles now foul on the cage, so I'm going to have to flip them 180.

Not much left before the MOT now.

Anyway, a few pics:

Interior (note the 'I have been sat around too long' rusty floors)

And a proper view of the wing I painted.

Well, that's annoying. Bunked off work for the afternoon to do the last few jobs. Fitted the steering wheel, fitted the side strips then decided against keeping them and removed. Then went to double check a few things pre-mot, and found that one rear light doesn't work (no power going to it.. weird) and that the boot light isnt wired up - and has no obvious wires that go to it.

Also, the horn has now stopped working, as have the indicators. These were all working on Monday, and I haven't touched the car since.

blah.

I'll have another fiddle at the weekend. I notice the horn has just 1 wire going into it - I presume this means the thing it's mounted on should be earthed? I wonder if that's dodgy.

It should earth through the bracket to the body. Check the connector for the stalk too as it could be loose.

The bracket isn't earthed properly, so I'll fix that. Sounds like the stalk could also be odd though, as the indicators have stopped working. Will update later :)

Ordered a few new bits yesterday, so hopfully they'll arrive for the weekend too - leads, plugs and a new speedo cable.

Alex do you have a steel front with no innerwings?? Reading through your check list you said about brace bars. I was wondering if you have a steel front and no inner wings where did you cut them as i dont want my innerwings but have no idea how to go about removing them.

Yeah, steel front and inner wing(only the drivers side) has been chopped out. I wouldn't recommend it. It's a PITA to mount things now, and causes fuss at the MOT.

Cut a few holes instead.
