First off not for my mini but for my zetec powered herald project. I'm think about solid mounting the engine, I've seen it on minis but due to mine being a road car I never looked in to it.
What are the pros and cons? Remmbering the herald will be stripped out ruff and ready track slag.

Personally i think they make the car feel more stable under breaking and acceleration.

Unfortunately, I run them on a daily road car. They rattle my teeth out, and i cant stand it any more.

I would most certainly beef up the area where they mount too if it doesn't mount to the sub frame.

I like my solid mounts....minimal extra vibration, mainly at 2-3k rpms. Nice not having to worry about engine movement with exhaust mounts, shift linkage and close clearance parts.

tried solid mounts - far too un pleasant even on a race car - I use poly mounts now!

I would have thought solid mounts would promote fatigue cracking on varius parts of the subframe and the mountings themselves?

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

as would i.. not for me. i use volvo lower arm bushings for my engine mounts, may as well be solid, but move enough not to stress surrounding metal with fatigue and vibration.

turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)
